Your First Appointment

At Park Road out aim is to provide you with excellent treatment that caters to all your dental needs. That starts from the minute you walk into the practice for your first appointment.

If you book a first appointment by telephone or email, we’ll book you in at a time that’s convenient and send you a new patient questionnaire, which will include questions about your medical and dental history. That way we’ll know if there’s anything special we need to look out for.

When you come for your appointment, you’ll be greeted by our friendly, welcoming reception team and will be registered as a new patient. Your first appointment will usually last about 60 minutes, during which time you can ask any questions or raise any concerns you may have. One of our dentists will then carry out a thorough examination of your mouth, including your teeth, gums and surrounding structures.

We also perform an oral cancer check on all patients, checking carefully for early signs of the disease. As with all forms of cancer, early diagnosis is vital to improving treatment prognosis, so if we notice anything unusual we will refer you to a hospital consultant for further investigation.

We will also take any x-rays and photographs as necessary to help with diagnosis. Once your dental examination is complete, we will go through any findings with you and will formulate a personal treatment plan, taking into account any clinical dental care you need along with any cosmetic procedures that may help you improve your smile.
